The Hallway Ghost Turned Out to Be a Very Curious Tabby
A white gauze sheet drapes over a brown tabby kitten's head and back, and two ragged eye holes let her golden eyes peek out. She tilts her face up toward something above, so the sheet bunches around her ears, one of which pokes up behind the fabric. The hallway behind her is calm and homey, with a jacket and a canvas bag hanging on the wall and a pair of shoes by the door.
The classic bedsheet ghost is a fun look, but for a pet it needs extra care. Loose fabric can slip over the eyes, snag on claws, or make it hard for a kitten to move, so any ghost outfit should be short, light, and watched at all times. Norwegian Forest Cats, thick-furred and sturdy, are known for being friendly and good climbers, and kittens of the breed usually have plenty of energy. If the sheet bothers her, take it off right away. Many cats are happier with a ghost toy to chase than with wearing one, and your vet can offer advice if a pet seems stressed.
The expression here says a lot. She looks curious rather than frightened, as if the sheet is simply a new kind of tent. Somewhere above her a sound has caught her attention, and the ghost is tracking it with great seriousness. It is the cutest haunting the hallway has ever seen.
