A Fluffy Pomeranian Puppy Is the Surprise Inside the Red-Bowed Box
Pop. An orange Pomeranian puppy sits inside an open cardboard box, wrapped with red satin bows on the lid and front, and looks out at the world like the best gift of the day. His round, fluffy coat looks like a perfect pumpkin-colored cloud, with a tiny dark nose and dark eyes at the center of it. Bits of crinkled paper cushion his seat, and a sprig of pine sticks out near the front bow.
Behind the box, the living room glows in the low gold light of late afternoon. A couch with blue blankets sits to one side, framed photos line a shelf, and a plant leans toward the window. We'll call him Clementine, since the color matches. She is the tiniest, fluffiest surprise in the room.
Pomeranians are small, lively dogs with a thick double coat and big personalities. They are often alert and chatty, and they love to be with their people. That fluffy coat needs regular brushing, but it should not be shaved, as it helps protect from both heat and cold. Pomeranians can be fragile as puppies, so gentle handling is important, and young children should hold them only while sitting. Boxes are a favorite hideout for most pets, because enclosed spaces feel safe. Still, keep tissue paper, ribbons, and packing material away from a puppy's mouth, since swallowing them can cause problems. A sturdy box with the lid off is a perfectly nice nap spot.
Clementine tilts her head just a little, as if to ask if everyone is ready for the big reveal.
