Someone Asked Who Wrecked the Sneakers. The Sphynx Looked Very Innocent.
Big bat ears, wrinkled pink skin, and a pair of pale green eyes that are trying very hard to look innocent. This Sphynx is sitting politely on the hallway floor right next to a mountain of sneakers that have clearly seen better days. The canvas is shredded, the soles are peeling, and frayed threads hang everywhere. A laundry basket and a rumpled sweater sit in the background, unbothered by the chaos.
Cats do not usually chew shoes the way puppies do, but they do love to scratch, knead, and bite at textured materials, and old sneakers carry a strong, interesting scent of their owner. For a Sphynx, which is famously social and people-focused, a pile of familiar-smelling shoes can feel like a cozy spot. Without fur, these cats lose body heat easily, so they often seek out warm, soft places and snuggle into clothing or blankets. They also need regular baths, since skin oils that fur would normally absorb build up on their bodies. Offering plenty of scratching posts and interactive toys helps keep that busy brain away from your closet.
In fairness, those sneakers looked tired long before this little gremlin arrived. Maybe this is less destruction and more a strong hint that it is time to go shoe shopping. The cat will be happy to inspect the new pair too.
