Honey the Ragdoll Has a Peanut Butter Nose and a Sweet Face
The open jar sits right in front of her with a spoon sticking out, and the cream point Ragdoll behind it is wearing peanut butter across her nose and one cheek. Her blue eyes look straight at the camera with soft, guilty innocence, and her ears are tilted slightly out to the sides. Behind her are folded towels and a pile of clutter, a perfectly ordinary background to a very sticky moment.
Peanut butter is a rich, sticky food that many cats find strangely interesting. It is not harmful in a small taste for most healthy cats, but it is high in fat and calories and does not offer them much of what they need. The label matters, because some brands contain xylitol, a sweetener that is toxic to pets, and if your cat has eaten anything with it, call your vet right away. A cat that eats a lot of rich food may also have an upset stomach. Ragdolls are calm, loving cats who usually enjoy being held and following their families around, and they are quite good at looking sweet when they have done something a little bit naughty.
We will call her Honey. She will need a damp cloth to clean that nose, and she will accept it as gracefully as she accepts everything else. The jar should stay in the cupboard from now on.
