A Smiling Corgi Got Tangled in the Blinds Chasing Something Outside
Bent blinds loop around a red and white Corgi, who has climbed onto the windowsill and now peeks out of the slats with a big, cheerful, slightly guilty grin. The ears point in different directions, one white paw is stretched over the sill, and a few thin slats hang loose around the shoulders like a plastic scarf. A bookshelf and a pile of laundry stand behind in the gentle light.
Corgis are alert, curious herding dogs, and they love to keep watch on their territory. A windowsill is a perfect lookout spot for spotting squirrels, delivery trucks, and passing neighbors. But blinds and curtain cords can be dangerous, since cords can tangle around a dog's neck, and bent slats can scratch or poke. Keep cords short and out of reach, or consider cordless blinds, and give your Corgi a safe perch, like a cushion by a window, instead. Corgis also have long backs, so avoid long jumps from high places, and talk to your vet about keeping their spine healthy.
The blinds will need replacing, but the Corgi has no regrets at all. In fact, with that big smile, it looks as though the whole thing was a fantastic adventure, and whatever happened outside the window was well worth the trouble it caused. Perhaps the next lookout spot will be a soft cushion by the glass, which the Corgi will treat as a very modest upgrade.
