A Black Pomeranian Sits Sorry Beside the Broken Vase and Rose Petals
Pink roses and torn petals lie across the floor around a cracked ceramic vase, and a fluffy black Pomeranian sits close by with ears flattened and eyes fixed on the camera. The fur is dark and plush, the tiny face half hidden in a ruffle of shadow, and shards of pottery rest near one paw. A sofa, a blanket, and a basket of toys stand behind, and a shaft of light touches the petals.
Pomeranians are small dogs with huge confidence, and they often behave as if they were ten times their size. That boldness, combined with curiosity, can lead to some very big mishaps in a small body. Broken ceramics are a safety concern, since sharp pieces can cut paws and mouths, so check the floor carefully and sweep up well before letting your dog back into the room. Many cut flowers and their water can also upset a pet's stomach, and lilies are especially dangerous to cats. If your dog steps on a shard or chews on flowers, a call to your vet is a good idea.
The roses were a lovely gift, and the vase will be missed. The Pomeranian, wrapped in a fluff of black fur and looking small and sorry, is hoping all is forgiven, and nobody can resist a face that fuzzy, even surrounded by the wreckage of a bouquet.
