A Black Pug Was Spotted With a Mouthful of Everyone's Socks

AI imagepugcaught in the actsocks

A black Pug holds a whole bundle of stolen socks in its mouth, gray, blue, and white, with the toes sticking out on both sides like a woolly mustache. The dark eyes are wide, the wrinkled forehead creased with worry, and the round face fills the corner of the frame. Behind, a table and a couch hold scattered clothes, a water bottle, and a few cups, as if the sock thief had been working all afternoon.

Pugs are charming, clownish dogs who adore their people and often steal items just to get attention or start a game. Socks smell strongly of their owners, and they are a favorite target for many dogs. The danger is that dogs can swallow socks, which can block the digestive tract and need urgent veterinary care, so never leave socks lying around and trade for a treat if your dog grabs one. Pugs have short noses and can overheat, so keep games gentle and indoors in warm weather. If your dog swallows a sock, call your vet right away.

The laundry will be one sock short today, or maybe several. The Pug stands there looking proud and a little nervous, with a mouth so full of socks that there is no way to explain, and the whole room seems to wait for what happens next.
