The Bathroom Looked Like a Snowstorm Hit. The Russian Blue Looked Surprised.
The roll is still hanging on its holder, but most of it is somewhere else now. Long ribbons of toilet paper drape across the vanity, loop around the chair by the window, and pile up in soft drifts on the tile. In the middle of it all sits a blue-grey cat with wide green eyes and a perfectly innocent stare, as if the whole bathroom simply happened to her.
Russian Blues are known for that plush silver-grey coat and bright green eyes, and they tend to be gentle, observant cats who bond closely with their families. They are also smart and playful, which is a handy combination when a paper roll spins so invitingly. Cats love things that unspool, flutter, and make a satisfying rustle when batted. If you would like to save your bathroom supplies, try a closed door, a roll holder that releases only with a firm tug, or a basket of crinkly toys and cardboard tubes that scratch the same itch. A few minutes of active play with a wand toy each day also burns off the energy that tends to go looking for trouble.
For now, this cat is holding very still, hoping the streamers will blend into the scenery. They will not, but the look on her face makes cleanup feel almost optional. Almost. Somewhere in the house, a very patient person is about to find a trail of paper leading right to her.
