A Beagle Looks Up From a Bathroom Buried in Toilet Paper
The bathroom looks like it hosted a party. Ribbons of toilet paper hang from the rolls, drift across the sink, and pile up in soft drifts on the tile, with a few empty tubes rolling to a stop near the tub. Sitting in the middle of it all is a lemon and white Beagle with long floppy ears and big brown eyes, gazing up at the camera as though he has never seen a roll of paper in his life.
Beagles are friendly, curious scent hounds, and they follow their noses everywhere. They are also energetic and playful, so a roll of paper that unspools with a tug can feel like a toy designed just for them. Beagles can get into trouble when they are bored or alone, so mental and physical exercise matters. Daily walks, sniffing games, and puzzle feeders help. If your dog loves to shred, keep the bathroom door closed and offer him something safe: a cardboard box filled with crumpled paper, a chew toy, or a snuffle mat with treats. Eating a lot of paper can cause an upset stomach or a blockage, so talk to your vet if you notice vomiting, a loss of appetite, or trouble going to the bathroom.
His big brown eyes do most of the talking. The mess will take five minutes to pick up, and his charm will last a lot longer.
