Someone Opened the Dishwasher and Found a Very Fluffy Dish
The fluffy white Bichon sits right on the pulled-out bottom rack of the dishwasher, her snowy curls glowing against the dark interior. She tilts her nose toward the ceiling and gazes up with wide, brown eyes. A few crumbs dot the rack where plates used to be, and a towel hangs on the counter behind her. She looks like a very small, very clean customer waiting for service.
Bichons are playful, cheerful dogs that adore attention, and they are famous for finding the funniest spots in the house to sit. Dishwashers, though, deserve some caution around pets. Leftover food on plates tempts dogs to lick, detergent can irritate a mouth or stomach, and knives or forks pointing upward can cause cuts. The safest habit is to close the door as soon as you finish loading, and to keep detergent in a cabinet the dog cannot open. If a dog does get into detergent, call your vet right away.
We will call her Daisy. She has apparently decided the rack is a tiny balcony with a view of the kitchen, and she is quite happy there. Her ears are relaxed and her gaze is steady. If this is her idea of a spa day, the only thing left to do is hand her a towel and gently help her back to the floor.
