A Black Poodle Gave Himself a Spa Day Without Telling Anyone
A big pile of white bubbles fills the old porcelain tub, and right in the center sits a black Poodle with damp curls and a look of quiet dignity. His ears are tucked back, and a few bubbles cling to his coat like tiny pearls. Towels hang in the background, a toothbrush stands in a cup, and a laundry basket waits nearby. He is not sure whether he is in trouble or at a spa.
Poodles are intelligent dogs bred as water retrievers, so many of them love a splash, even when the water came from an unplanned bubble bath. Their curly coats need regular grooming, and dog-safe shampoo is the right choice for bath time, because products meant for people can dry out a dog's skin. Rinse well, since leftover soap can be irritating, and dry the ears gently. If a dog has swallowed a lot of soap suds or bath products, talk to your vet.
We will call him Licorice. He sits quietly, which suggests he has made peace with the bubbles. Somewhere beyond the edge of the frame, someone is about to discover the open faucet or the tipped soap bottle, but for now he has the whole tub to himself. At least he is already clean, the towel is nearby, and he will be wonderfully fluffy once he is dry.
