The Bulldog Took a Seat at the Breakfast Table and Waited
A big white Bulldog has taken a seat on the kitchen table itself, right beside a feast of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, avocado toast, fresh berries, and a stick of butter. His wrinkled face is turned to the side, jowls drooping, and he stares into the middle distance with great concentration. A glass of water and a folded towel sit within reach of his paws. Nothing is touched, as far as we can tell.
Bulldogs are gentle, easygoing dogs with a big appetite and a stubborn streak, which makes a breakfast table a real test of willpower. Because of their short noses, they can overheat and tire easily, so calm, short walks and a cool spot to rest are important. Rich foods like bacon and butter can upset a dog's stomach or cause more serious problems, and some breakfast items are unsafe altogether. If your dog helps itself to a human meal, call your vet and describe what was eaten.
We will call him Winston. He has the look of a dignified gentleman who simply happened to be passing by, and who is not at all interested in toast. His posture is perfect, his ears relaxed, and his expression is peaceful. The eggs may be getting cold, but Winston is a patient dog, and he will wait as long as it takes for somebody to blink first.
