A Little Maltese Found the Bathroom Roll and Went Into Business
Somewhere between the roll and the doorway, the toilet paper decided to go on an adventure. A small white Maltese named Pearl stands in the middle of the bathroom with long paper ribbons draped over her shoulders like a fancy scarf. More streamers hang from the cabinet and spill across the tile, and her fluffy topknot has a few stray bits stuck in it. She is looking up and away with an expression of pure wounded innocence.
Maltese dogs are small, cheerful companions that love being near their people. They also love games, and a roll of toilet paper that spins and unravels as you tug it is about the most entertaining toy in the house. Puppies and young dogs are the most likely to do this. If a dog keeps raiding the bathroom, a closed door, a roll holder with a cover or a basket of safe toys nearby can save a lot of cleanup.
A little shredded paper is usually harmless, but a dog that swallows a good amount can end up with an upset stomach, so it is worth checking and calling your vet if you are unsure. The long white coat on a Maltese also tangles easily, so stray paper is best brushed out gently.
Pearl, of course, is pretending to be a tiny bride at an elegant ceremony. The trailing veil is all part of the look, and she wears it with total confidence.
