A Ragdoll Settled Into the Couch Stuffing and Gave Us a Tiny Smile
White stuffing billows around a blue point Ragdoll who lounges in the middle of it, blue eyes bright and a small guilty smile on her face. The sofa behind her is torn open at the arm, and scraps of fabric lie across the floor. A wooden table and a mug sit in the background, and a throw blanket sags on one side. Her cream and gray coat blends so well with the fluff that she seems to be part of it.
Ragdolls are large, gentle cats known for their soft, semi-long fur and relaxed nature. Many are said to go limp when held, which is how they got their name, and they often follow their people around the house. Even gentle cats scratch, and a sofa can be a favorite spot. Offering a tall, sturdy scratching post near the couch and rewarding her when she uses it can protect the furniture. Stuffing and fabric can be dangerous if swallowed, so call your vet if she ate any. Regular nail trimming and a soft bed of her own can also help.
She is so comfortable in her cloud that the damage seems almost forgotten. The sofa will need a repair, and the room will need a good vacuum. Still, she looks happy, and her smile makes it hard to be angry.
