A Brindle Shih Tzu Sits in a Puddle of Blue Paint, Sheepish
Blue paint is splashed across the floor in a bold swirl, and a small brindle Shih Tzu sits right in the middle with blue streaks on her fur. The paint can lies on its side beside her, and her dark eyes look up with ears pulled back in a sheepish expression. A pink collar peeks through the long fur, and a sofa and a basket sit in the room behind.
Shih Tzus are small, friendly dogs with long, silky coats and a sweet, outgoing nature. They were bred as companions, and they like to be close to their people, which means they often follow them into whatever room is being painted. A tipped can and a puddle of color are interesting things to investigate with a paw.
Wet paint can be harmful if a dog licks it off, and some paints and solvents are especially toxic. Do not use harsh cleaners on the fur, and call your vet right away for advice. Wipe off wet paint quickly with a damp cloth and keep your dog out of the room while you work. Store all paint tightly closed and out of reach.
The Shih Tzu looks very sorry, though she is also quite colorful. A long grooming session is coming, but she is a good sport. Her new look may not last, but she wears it with the quiet dignity of a very small artist.
