A Dalmatian Looks Away From the Butter Dish He Cleaned

AI imagedalmatianbutterkitchen

Crumbs and a little butter cling to his chin, and the dish next to him has been licked completely clean. The Dalmatian sits close to the table with his black spots standing out against his white coat, his dark ears falling softly, and his brown eyes turned sheepishly to the side.

The kitchen around him is sunny and a little messy, with a wooden cutting board, bits of herbs, a spoon, and a plant on the windowsill. A few crumbs have been scattered across the table, as if there was a very short breakfast. Sunlight spills across the table and over his spotted back, and the empty dish gleams like a mirror in the middle of it all.

Dalmatians are athletic, energetic dogs who were once bred to run alongside carriages, so they need plenty of exercise and play. They can be sensitive, smart, and very devoted. Butter is high in fat, and a large amount can upset a dog's stomach or cause serious illness such as pancreatitis, so call your vet if your dog eats a lot. Dalmatians can also have specific health needs, and your vet can advise on diet. Keep butter dishes covered and food off the table edge, and give your dog plenty of exercise so that she does not go looking for snacks.

He holds himself as though nothing has happened, spotless except for that one buttery chin. At least the dish is easy to wash.
