A Fawn Pug Has Taken a Seat at the Breakfast Table
Sitting right on the breakfast table, the fawn Pug looks off to the side with his big dark eyes and his black velvet ears. Beside him are plates of scrambled eggs, avocado toast, a bowl of berries, a dish of butter, and a croissant with a bite taken out of it. A glass of water with a lemon slice shines in the sun.
The kitchen around him is cheerful, with a dish rack, onions in a bowl, a houseplant, and a dish towel on the counter. A few crumbs of egg lie scattered by his paws.
Pugs are small, sturdy dogs with wrinkled faces and a love of food and company. They can gain weight easily, so careful portions and regular walks are important. They also have short noses, which makes it hard for some to cool down, so avoid hot weather and strenuous exercise. A table is a risky place for a dog, since foods like onions, grapes, raisins, chocolate, and sweeteners can be harmful. If your Pug eats something unusual, call your vet. Keep food away from the edges, and give him a treat of his own so that he does not feel left out at mealtime.
He keeps his eyes turned away and his chest puffed out in dignified silence. A Pug on the table is a kind of royalty.
