The Abyssinian Admiral Inspected the Fleet and Was Not Fooled
Sharp ears, sleek reddish fur and green-gold eyes give this Abyssinian a look of keen attention. He wears a navy velvet admiral's coat with big gold epaulettes that end in tassels, a row of round gold buttons marching down the front, and a dark lace cravat at his throat. His coat is warm cinnamon with a delicate ticked pattern, and the painter has captured each fine hair. The background is a deep brown haze, as if smoke from a ship's cannon is still drifting away.
Abyssinians are active, curious cats, often described as the athletes of the cat world. They love to climb, leap and investigate every cupboard, and they usually want to be involved in whatever their people are doing. That means they do best with plenty of enrichment: tall cat trees, interactive play sessions and toys that make them think. Their short coat is easy to care for, with an occasional brush being plenty. Because they are so energetic, daily play is a good habit, and a vet can help with diet if your cat starts to gain weight.
This admiral clearly commands his fleet with the same alertness he uses to watch a dangling string. We suspect the crew is already wondering whether he will really approve the course or simply knock something off the shelf. Smooth seas, Admiral.
