A Tiny Chocolate Puppy Claimed the Very Center of the Pumpkin Patch
Surrounded by a scattering of plump orange pumpkins, one small chocolate-brown puppy has claimed the very center of the patch. He sits with his front paws planted and his head tilted just slightly, gazing out with big, shining eyes. His fur is soft and fuzzy, his ears are tufted at the tips and flopped at slightly different angles, and dry leaves and curling vines crunch under his tiny feet. An overturned green bucket and a weathered shed in the background give the whole scene a cozy, end-of-harvest feel.
Chihuahuas come in an impressive range of colors and patterns, including fawn, cream, black and tan, white, blue, and the rich chocolate seen here. Chocolate-colored dogs often have brown noses and paw pads to match, and sometimes lighter eye colors. Color doesn't change a Chihuahua's personality, so it's best to choose a puppy for temperament and health rather than shade alone. Speaking of pumpkins: plain, cooked pumpkin is a common occasional treat for dogs, but pumpkin pie filling, spiced treats, and carved pumpkins that have started to rot are not good choices. When in doubt about any new food, talk to your vet.
This little one doesn't seem interested in snacking anyway. He's far too busy posing like the official mascot of the pumpkin patch.
Autumn has plenty of beautiful colors. Chocolate brown might be the cutest.
