Someone Went to Water the Plants and Found Two Puppies in the Pot
Two cream puppies sit side by side in a big terracotta pot, front paws draped over the rim as if they had grown there. Their coats are soft and fluffy with a hint of buttery tan on the ears, and their dark eyes look straight ahead with hopeful, slightly worried expressions. A pile of laundry and a basket sit in the room behind them.
A flower pot can feel like a perfect little nest to a puppy, because the high sides make it feel secure. Still, pots used for plants have soil, fertilizer, and sometimes chemicals that dogs should not eat, and some houseplants are poisonous. Choose a clean, empty pot for photos only briefly, and keep a close hold on the puppies.
Havanese puppies tend to be cheerful and curious, and they like being involved in whatever their people are doing. If your puppy gets into houseplants, try putting them out of reach, and offer a safe alternative, like a digging box with toys. Your vet can also give you a list of plants that are dangerous for dogs.
These two do not look guilty, only pleased with themselves. They have found a pot, climbed in, and become the best thing in the room. Whoever planned to put a fern in there will need to find another place. The pot looks happier already.
