Three Weimaraner Puppies Sleep in a Neat Row on the Towels

AI imageweimaranertowelsnapping

Three silver Weimaraner puppies have stretched out on a stack of soft towels, heads lined up in a sleepy row. Their wrinkled faces are tucked against the terry cloth, noses pointing down, paws curled neatly. The towels, in cream and gray stripes, look just rumpled enough to be perfect. A laundry hamper and some shoes are tucked into the background.

Towels make wonderful puppy bedding in a pinch. They are soft, washable, and cheap to replace if a puppy chews them, and many breeders and vets use them to line crates or whelping areas. Wash them regularly, since puppies are not yet housebroken, and avoid towels with loose loops that can catch tiny claws. A thick pile also gives a bit of insulation against a cold floor.

This is great napping practice, too. Young puppies need a great deal of sleep to grow, and it is normal for them to nap deeply after short bursts of play. Weimaraner pups can be quite energetic when awake, so a regular routine of play, meals, and sleep helps keep them balanced. If a puppy seems unusually tired or reluctant to eat, ask your vet.

It looks as though the three of them lined up at the same moment and fell asleep in a row. The towels must smell like a warm bath and a good dream.
