Two Weimaraner Puppies Turned a Kiddie Pool Into a Splash Zone
Two wet Weimaraner puppies are right in the thick of it, planted in a blue plastic kiddie pool with water flying in every direction. One pup grins with an open mouth and wet whiskers while the other jumps back from a splash. Droplets hang in the air, and a watering can, a laundry basket, and a succulent sit on the patio behind them.
Water play can be great fun for dogs, but puppies should be introduced to it gently. A shallow pool, just a couple of inches deep, lets them touch the water and stand easily. Never leave puppies alone near water, even a small pool, and drain it after use. Keep sessions short and check that the surface is not slippery, then dry them off, especially their ears, which can trap moisture.
Weimaraners, as a breed, often enjoy water. They were bred as versatile hunting dogs, and many take to splashing and swimming happily, though every dog is an individual. Letting a pup choose how far to go helps build confidence instead of fear. On hot days, shade and fresh drinking water matter, too, because puppies can overheat quickly.
These two are having a magnificent time. The pool may be small, but the waves are enormous, and the towels are standing by. Afterward, a warm towel and a quiet rest are the perfect way to end a splashy afternoon.
