Three Bernese Puppies Took Over the White Bedspread
Three Bernese Mountain Dog puppies have claimed a crumpled white bedspread. They lie close together, with one pup on the left looking sleepily toward the camera, the middle puppy sticking out a tiny pink tongue, and the third curled with its back to the viewer. Glasses and a gray blanket sit on the sheets farther back, and a lamp gleams softly in a corner.
A bed is a tempting place for a puppy, and many families have to decide early whether dogs are allowed on it. Bernese puppies grow big quickly, so a habit that seems adorable now may be a tight squeeze later. If beds are off-limits, a comfy dog bed in the bedroom helps. If they are allowed, a washable cover will be a good idea, and jumping down from high mattresses can be hard on a puppy's joints.
Bernese Mountain Dogs love being near their people, and many like to sleep in the same room. Dogs are social animals, and being close gives them comfort. A regular bedtime routine, with a last outdoor break and a calm farewell, helps a young puppy settle. Your vet can answer questions about sleep and crate training for large-breed pups.
These three have found the softest spot in the house and are making the most of it. The white bedspread has rarely looked so cozy.
