Two Bernese Puppies Looked Over the Edge of the Bed Together
Two Bernese Mountain Dog puppies peek over the edge of a gray-sheeted bed, chins flat on the fabric and eyes wide open. Their black ears fall around their faces, and white paws stretch ahead. Behind them, the bed is covered with a jumble of clothes, blankets, and cords, and a wooden shelf and a laundry basket sit near the window.
Puppies love to stay close to their families, and peering over a bed's edge is a classic way to say, I would like to be up there. The rule for large-breed puppies is to avoid letting them jump on and off high furniture often, since landing impact can strain their growing joints. A pet step or ramp can help when you decide to share the bed.
Bernese Mountain Dogs are affectionate and love company, and that is why they are so often found right at their owner's side. A puppy that is nervous about being alone can benefit from a snug bed in the family bedroom, and a chew toy can help it settle. Training a pup to stay calm when left alone takes time and gentle practice.
These two seem happy to look and wait. Whoever is about to come into the room is going to get a very warm welcome. Meanwhile, the pile of clothes on the bed is safe for the moment, and that is a small miracle.
