Five Saint Bernard Puppies Fell Asleep Under the Christmas Tree
Under the low branches of a Christmas tree, a pile of Saint Bernard puppies sleeps on a plaid blanket. Round faces rest on soft paws, red-brown ears fall over closed eyes, and the nearest pups sprawl with their chins on each other. Pinecones and gold ornaments hang above them, and the room behind is warm with baskets, books, and a coffee mug.
Christmas trees are exciting for puppies but carry risks. Pine needles can upset a stomach, tree water can contain additives and bacteria, and ornaments, tinsel, and lights are dangerous if chewed. Place breakable and edible decorations out of reach, cover the stand, and unplug lights when you cannot watch. If your puppy swallows something it should not, call your vet right away.
This is also a busy time of year, with guests, noise, and changes in routine. Giving puppies a quiet place to retreat helps them feel secure. Saint Bernards are known for being gentle and calm, but young pups still need rest and routine. A cozy bed away from foot traffic gives them what they need.
The five of them look blissful, wrapped in blankets and lit by the soft glow of the tree. Nobody is thinking about presents, only about dreams. The tree will glitter all evening, and the pups will sleep right through it, warm and safe on their blanket.
