Four Saint Bernard Puppies Leaned on the Playpen Wall Together
Four Saint Bernard puppies are stacked against the mesh wall of a playpen, their front paws hooked over the top and their round faces turned in different directions. One looks off to the side with a sleepy gaze, another stares straight ahead, and two more peer down. Behind them, a room with scattered clothes, a plant, and a table hints at a busy household.
Playpens can be useful for keeping puppies safe, but they should be used with care. A good playpen includes a soft bed, water, a toy, and enough space for the puppies to move. Puppies should not stay in a pen for long stretches, since they need exercise, attention, and bathroom breaks. If they start to climb out, it may be time to use a taller pen or to supervise more closely.
Saint Bernard puppies grow quickly, and soon this playpen will not be able to hold them. Their size means that jumping and climbing can strain their joints, so gentle activity is best. Their calm temperament usually makes them easy to train, and short, rewarding training sessions help them learn manners early.
The four of them look like a little crowd at a fence, and each seems to have a different opinion about what comes next. It will not be long before one of them figures out the climb, but for now they are happy to watch the world from behind the wall.
