Four Chocolate Puppies Took Over the Laundry Basket
Four chocolate Havanese puppies are crowded into a beige plastic laundry basket, their curly brown heads poking out from different angles. The two at the top look up with big dark eyes, while the two at the bottom seem to be pressed into the corners. A pile of gray clothes and a pair of sneakers on the floor suggest that laundry day has been abandoned.
The laundry basket is a favorite puppy hiding spot, because it has walls, a soft bottom and it smells like family. It is also a place where trouble can start, since clothing is a tempting chew toy and socks can be dangerous if swallowed. Keep clean and dirty laundry out of reach, and offer a safe toy when you see a puppy with a sock in its mouth.
Havanese puppies tend to be clever and eager, which means they are good at finding fun, including the kind that was not planned. Their silky coats mature as they grow, and their color may lighten or deepen, so these four may look slightly different as adults. Early training, with gentle, consistent routines, helps channel their energy.
For now, the laundry is on hold. The basket has four tenants, and none of them plan to move out until someone offers a better snack. One of the pups at the top is already eyeing the rim, which suggests that the basket will be empty again before the next cartoon starts.
