Four Cream Puppies Peeked Out of the Basket All at Once
Four cream Havanese puppies are tucked into a woven wicker basket, their small faces peeking over the rim like a row of cotton balls with eyes. Their fur is soft and fluffy, their dark noses are all lined up and each one wears a slightly different expression: curious, sleepy, alert and a little shy. A houseplant and a wooden door glow in warm light behind them.
Baskets make charming hiding places, but real ones can fray, and small puppies like to chew on the weave. If you use a basket as a bed, pick a sturdy one lined with a soft blanket, and watch for loose strands. A better long-term bed is washable and made for dogs, with a cozy bolster for them to lean against.
The Havanese is a small breed that has been prized as a companion for generations, and it shows in the way these four huddle together. They typically do best when they are with people or other pets, and they get restless if left alone for too long. Gentle socialization and training from a young age help build a confident dog.
The four are comfortable and curious. It would not be surprising if one of them tried climbing out any minute, but for now, all four are enjoying the view. Their whiskers twitch, their ears flutter and their noses wiggle at every smell drifting in from the kitchen, which they will investigate soon enough.
