The Bike Was Parked, but This Passenger Wasn't Getting Off
Somebody has just parked the bicycle, and the passenger refuses to get out. A fluffy golden puppy sits bolt upright in a woven wicker basket, front paws tucked together, big dark eyes fixed on the camera with a serious, slightly questioning look. His soft ears hang down like little curtains. Behind him a cluttered workshop shelf holds a folded gray towel, a potted plant, and a tote bag, and a bike wheel peeks in at the corner.
If you ever want to take a puppy along for a ride, safety comes first. Young puppies are wriggly and curious, and a basket without a secure lid or harness is not a safe place for a moving bike. Many owners start by simply getting the pup used to the basket while the bike stays still, rewarding calm behavior with a treat. Short, slow outings on foot are usually a better way to introduce a puppy to the neighborhood, and your vet can tell you when vaccinations allow public outings.
Golden Retrievers tend to be friendly and people-focused, so a pup like this one usually loves any activity that keeps him close to his family. That curiosity is a gift, as long as it is steered toward safe adventures.
We'll call him Biscuit, and from the look of his proud little chest, he considers this basket his personal throne. The ride may be pretend, but the confidence is entirely real.
