Four Puppies Turned a Flower Basket Into Their Own Little Nest
Spring arrived in a basket. Four golden puppies fill a big wicker hamper trimmed with sprigs of eucalyptus and tiny white blossoms. One pup near the top has dozed off with his chin on the rim, another looks out with bright dark eyes, a third gazes toward us with parted lips, and the fourth is tucked low in front. The living room behind them is calm, with a gray couch and a pair of soft slippers.
A pretty basket makes a good photo spot, but it is worth thinking about the decorations. Some greenery and flowers are harmful if chewed, including eucalyptus, lilies, and several common bouquet flowers, so only use pet-safe plants, and keep them out of a curious puppy's mouth. Wicker, too, can be nibbled and splintered, so supervise and remove the pups once the fun is done. Your vet or local poison hotline can tell you what is safe.
Golden Retriever pups are typically relaxed and social, and they enjoy being near their family. Giving them time to nap between play sessions helps keep them happy, since overtired puppies can get cranky and mouthy. A short play session followed by a nap makes a nice rhythm for the day. Fresh water should always be close at hand.
With one pup asleep and three keeping watch, this basket has its own shift schedule. It looks like a very well-run operation.
