Three Puppies Went Inspecting in the Vegetable Garden
Three chocolate-colored puppies have wandered into the vegetable garden. They sit among the leafy greens and young seedlings, with soil still clinging to their noses. The pup in the center looks up with an open mouth, as if about to say something, while his sibling on the left studies the plants and the third peers to the side. In the background, wooden raised beds, bamboo stakes, and a green watering can sit in the golden evening light.
A garden is a wonderful place for puppies to sniff around, but vegetable beds hold a few surprises. Onions, garlic, grapes, and some other common garden plants are harmful to dogs, and fertilizers, compost, and slug baits can be dangerous too. A short fence or barrier around the beds is an easy fix. If your puppy gets into something suspicious, call your vet quickly.
Golden Retrievers love to help, and a puppy often follows his people around the yard. Giving him a safe corner of the garden where digging is allowed, with a few toys to find, can protect the vegetables and let him enjoy the outdoors. Rinsing off muddy paws before heading indoors keeps the floors, and the family, much happier.
These three look like inspectors on their first day, tasked with checking every leaf. There's a good chance they will approve of all of it.
