Three White Puppies Vanished Into the Bedspread. Almost.
Against a rumpled white bedspread, three white puppies are almost camouflaged, and the only giveaways are three black noses and six dark eyes. One pup rests her chin on her paws, another peers sideways with a tiny open-mouthed grin, and the third has sprawled out with a hind leg stretched behind her. A basket of clothes and a mug on a nightstand hint at a busy morning that has not been tidied yet.
A soft bed is tempting for puppies, but it is worth thinking about where they should be allowed to sleep. Young dogs can slip off high surfaces and hurt themselves, so many owners use a low pet bed or a playpen until the pup is steady on her feet. If you do let puppies climb on a bed, a small ramp or step can help. Samoyed puppies, with their fast-growing legs, are especially wiggly and fearless.
Their coat is another reason to keep sheets in mind. Samoyeds have a thick double layer that sheds heavily, and regular brushing, a few times a week or more during shedding season, keeps loose fur under control. Trimming or shaving the coat is generally not recommended because it helps the dog regulate temperature, but a groomer or your vet can give breed-specific advice.
For now, the whole scene is soft, white, and a little bit lazy, with three small faces that seem perfectly happy to blend into the linens.
