All Aboard the Little Red Wagon. The Devon Rex Doesn't Look Convinced.

All aboard the little red wagon. A cream Devon Rex with wavy fur, enormous ears, and a mildly skeptical expression sits bolt upright at one end of a rusty red wagon, while nine fluffy yellow ducklings fill every remaining inch of space on a bed of straw. A couple of them gaze up at the cat, and the rest seem perfectly happy to be along for the ride. The black pull handle stretches toward the corner, and the backyard behind them is full of character: rubber boots, potted succulents, a coiled garden hose, and a drying rack of laundry by the fence.

If you ever need to move ducklings yourself, gentle handling makes a big difference. Scoop a duckling up with both hands, supporting its body from underneath and keeping its wings gently tucked, and never lift it by the legs, wings, or neck. Keep it low and close to your body so a sudden wiggle does not lead to a fall. For moving a whole group, a sturdy box or carrier lined with a towel is safer than trying to carry them loose. Keep trips short, avoid drafts and direct heat, and as always, wash your hands well afterward.

This crew, of course, has found its own mode of transport. With a full load of peeping passengers and one dignified feline conductor, the little red wagon looks ready for the grand tour of the yard. Someone just needs to grab the handle.
