A Boston Terrier Led the Way and a Piglet Followed Close Behind
A brindle and white Boston Terrier strides across a patch of long grass dotted with white daisies and tiny purple flowers, her dark collar neat and her ears pricked up as if she knows where she is going. Walking close beside her, a small pink piglet trots along with her snout level and her ears flapping, following the lead of her friend. Behind them, a little house with a window and potted plants waits in the sun. The two make a determined little team on their way across the lawn.
A walk through a flowery field is a joy, but a few small precautions keep pets safe. Long grass can hide burrs, ticks, and insects, so check fur and skin afterward, and ask your vet about flea and tick prevention for your area. Some wildflowers and plants can be harmful if chewed, so it is wise to keep pets from grazing. Boston Terriers have short noses and can tire in the heat, so keep outings short on warm days and bring water. A cheerful dog like a Boston is a natural leader on a walk, and a friend trotting behind her makes it more fun.
Penny follows so closely that she is almost on the Boston's heels. The dog looks pleased to have a trusting friend. Sometimes the best part of a walk is simply having someone to go with.
