A Corgi and a Piglet Went Looking for Something in the Garden
A tricolor Corgi bends her head over a bed of green leaves and loose straw, her nose almost touching the ground and her ears pricked. A small pink piglet snuffles along beside her, snout down, searching for something interesting in the soil. A tipped clay pot, a metal bucket, and a few tools lie around the garden, and the plants are fresh and leafy. It looks like a pair of friends on a very serious mission of discovery. Bits of straw cling to the Corgi's chest fur, and the piglet's snout is already speckled with soil.
Corgis are curious, smart dogs with a nose for adventure, and a garden is full of interesting smells. Gardens can also hold hazards, however, such as fertilizers, slug bait, and plants that are harmful to dogs, so it is wise to store products safely and to check which plants are unsafe. Corgis are prone to gaining weight, so exploring is a good way to burn calories, while a few short walks each day keep them fit. Wash paws afterward and ask your vet about any plants you are unsure about.
Penny is following the Corgi's lead, and the Corgi doesn't seem to mind. Between the two noses, no leaf will go unchecked. It's a good day to be a garden detective. The vegetables are in good paws, or at least curious ones.
