A Boston Terrier and a Piglet Fell Asleep in the Porch Hammock
A cream hammock sways gently on the porch, and nestled into the fabric are two sleeping friends. A brindle and white Boston Terrier lies with her head resting on the weave and her eyes closed, and beside her a small pink piglet is curled up with her snout tucked in. The porch railing, a few potted plants, and the green yard beyond make a peaceful backdrop. It looks like the kind of afternoon that no one wants to hurry. A faint breeze lifts the edge of the fabric, and a trailing vine curls around one of the porch posts.
Hammocks are a wonderful place for a lazy afternoon, but pets need a few precautions when they share one. Check that the hammock is strong enough for everyone, and keep it low to the ground so that a jump or a fall is not a hazard. Boston Terriers have short noses and can get warm easily, so a shady porch is an ideal place for them to nap. Keep fresh water nearby and let animals get in and out on their own. If you have questions about safe rest areas, your vet can help.
Penny has fallen asleep with the Boston's soft breathing as her lullaby. The hammock sways, and the world seems to slow down. It is a very good afternoon to do nothing at all. Not even the creaking ropes can wake them.
