A Tiny Yorkie Took the Tractor Seat and the Pony Stood by His Side
On the worn metal seat of an old tractor, a tiny black and tan Yorkshire Terrier puppy sits upright with his ears perked and a serious expression. Right beside him, a shaggy tan pony leans in close, his big dark eye level with the puppy's. Potted flowers, a watering can, and a pair of work gloves sit in the yard behind them.
Yorkshire Terriers were originally bred to catch rats in mills, and the spirit of that job is still in them. They are small but bold, and they are known for confidence that does not match their size. Puppies need early socialization and gentle training, and their silky coat takes regular brushing. Their size also means they are fragile, so care around bigger animals is important, and a vet can help with advice.
Tractor seats are tall, narrow, and often cold and metal, so no puppy should be left on one unattended. Even so, the image is a fun picture of how much dogs love to be up high where they can see. Many dogs love riding along, as it gives them a view and a job to do. If you take a dog along on farm work, a safe harness and a watchful person make all the difference.
The pup has the look of a boss who has just taken over the farm, and the pony seems happy to be his assistant. Everything about the pair is gentle, even if the seat is large.
