A Sunbeam Landed on the Deck and Two Friends Moved Right In
A warm bar of sunlight has landed on the deck, and two friends have found it. A curly apricot Goldendoodle puppy lies with his front paws stretched forward, his dark eyes bright and curious and his curls glowing in the light. Right beside him, Pepper the brown pony rests his head on the boards with his eyes shut and his shaggy mane falling across his face.
The wooden floor is warm and weathered. Behind them are a few terracotta pots, a bit of green hedge, and the siding of a small house. Every hair on the puppy and the pony seems lit from behind. The two of them are pressed together in a way that suggests the sun is not the only warm thing here.
Goldendoodle puppies come from Golden Retriever and Poodle parents, and they tend to be friendly, bouncy, and eager to learn. Their curly coats need regular brushing to prevent tangles, and their grooming can be a chore, so it helps to start early. Sunny spots are nice for naps, but pets can overheat or sunburn, especially lighter-coated ones, so provide shade and water. Ponies also enjoy sunning, but they need shelter and fresh water nearby. Always supervise a puppy and a pony when they are together, since hooves can hurt small dogs. Your vet can offer care tips for both.
The sun slides slowly across the deck, and the nap goes on. A patch of warmth and a good friend is plenty.
