A Dalmatian Watched the Frost Outside, With a Bunny Right Beside Her
Frost has crept across the window, and the warm room feels all the better for it. A Dalmatian with bold black spots sits upright by the glass, her nose lifted and her gaze calm, while a small brown bunny perches on a gray blanket next to her with her ears alert and her eyes bright. A lamp glows on the right and a sofa sits in the shadows, and the winter light outside is cold and pale.
Dalmatians are athletic, energetic dogs with a lot of stamina, so a calm indoor day like this probably follows a long walk. They are loyal and affectionate but need regular exercise and training to stay happy. Their short coat offers little insulation, so in winter they can feel the cold and often love a warm blanket.
In cold weather, rabbits that live outdoors need special care, such as a dry, draft-free shelter, plenty of bedding and fresh water that does not freeze. Many owners bring pet rabbits into a protected indoor space during winter. If you are unsure, talk to your vet about the best set-up for your pet.
Outside it is freezing, but in here there is a blanket, a lamp and good company. Pip looks perfectly content, and the Dalmatian looks like a very elegant guard. It is a small, quiet scene that makes the cold seem very far away indeed.
