The Schnauzer is walking with great dignity, and he has four passengers. A salt-and-pepper Miniature Schnauzer with a big gray beard and bushy eyebrows is crossing the lawn at a steady pace, and sitting in a neat row along his back are four fluffy yellow ducklings, balanced like they have done this many times before. Miniature Schnauzers are smart, sturdy little dogs with a lot of confidence. They were bred as farm dogs and ratters, so they are alert and energetic. Their wiry coat needs regular grooming and trimming, especially the beard, which collects water and food. They do well with plenty of exercise and mental games, and they are usually loyal to their people.

Baby ducks are naturally drawn to warm, large animals, which is why they might choose a dog's back as a resting spot. Still, this kind of ride should only happen with a very calm dog and close supervision, because a sudden jump could hurt a duckling. Ducklings also need their own warm place and plenty of fresh water and proper food.

The Schnauzer seems determined not to wobble, and the ducklings seem determined to enjoy the ride. It is a parade of four on one very steady back.
