A Poodle and a Lamb Refused to Leave the Warm Quilt
Morning light creeps over a cream quilt, and two heads poke out of the folds. A black Poodle with tight curls lies with his chin on the blanket, eyes soft and sleepy. Next to him, a white lamb blinks awake, her ears flopped out to the sides. The quilt is pulled up around them both like a cloud, and a windowsill glows in the background. Neither seems in any hurry to get up, and Cotton lets out the tiniest sigh as the day begins. A few stray curls on the Poodle's head have been squashed flat by the pillow.
Poodles come in three sizes and are among the smartest dog breeds. They are active, eager to learn and often very sensitive to the mood of the people around them. Their curly coats shed little but need regular grooming, and many Poodles love to burrow into soft blankets. Dogs and animals alike seek warm, cozy sleeping spots because they feel safe there. It's a good idea for any pet to have a bed they can retreat to, and for dogs, a consistent sleep routine helps them relax. If you ever have questions about a pet's sleep or energy, a vet is the best person to ask. A washable quilt is a good idea for any pet sharing a bed, since it will pick up fur and straw.
The alarm clock of the farm can wait a few more minutes. This quilt is too comfortable to leave. Somewhere in the house a clock ticks, and neither of them hears it.
