A White Samoyed and a Lamb Hide Under the Same Cream Quilt
Beneath a cream-colored quilt, a white Samoyed lies with her chin resting on the covers and her dark eyes soft. Next to her, Dumpling the lamb is tucked under the same blanket, her head up and her ears relaxed. The quilt rumples around them in big folds, and behind the bed a few stuffed toys and a basket of blankets are visible. Samoyed fur and lamb wool are almost the same shade, and the Samoyed's famous smile is just visible. Neither seems ready to get up yet. A stuffed animal peeks out from the folds of the quilt.
Samoyeds are friendly, gentle dogs from Siberia, known for their thick white coats and upturned mouths that look like a smile. They were bred to herd reindeer and pull sleds, and they remain energetic and social. Their double coat sheds heavily and needs frequent brushing. They're sensitive to heat and prefer cooler weather. Dogs often like to sleep under covers because it makes them feel secure, and lambs also look for cozy places to rest. A washable quilt is best for pets, since straw, fur and dirt are certain to find their way in. Keep an eye on the temperature, since thick-coated dogs can get warm under covers.
The morning light is gentle, and the quilt is warm. Morning can wait a little longer.
