A Boxer Puppy and a Pony Press Up to the Window on a Rainy Day

Raindrops are running down the windowpane, and two friends have pulled up to watch. A brown Boxer puppy with a blue collar rests his front paws on the sill, mouth slightly open as if he is about to comment on the weather. Beside him, a shaggy gray pony stands with his head turned toward the glass and his dark eyes full of thought. A coat hangs on a hook by the door and a wicker basket sits near the floor. The gray day outside makes the room feel extra snug.

Boxers are playful, athletic dogs with a goofy, youthful streak that often lasts well into adulthood. They are loyal and love being part of the family, and a Boxer puppy usually has bursts of energy followed by naps. Rainy days can be tough on energetic dogs, so indoor games like hide-and-seek with treats or short training sessions are a good way to burn off steam. Boxers' short coats don't offer much protection against the cold and wet, so a towel after a walk helps. Ponies, too, have opinions about rain, and a dry shelter is important for them.

At the moment, though, nobody has any complaints. The puppy and the pony are happy to stay inside, shoulder to shoulder, and let the rain do its thing. A gray afternoon can be a surprisingly nice one when you have good company at the window and nowhere to be.
