Everyone Wondered Where the Cat Went Until They Checked the Corgi
The Corgi's chin rests on the floor, his dark eyes half closed, and between his big white paws lies a cream-colored cat with enormous ears and a little pink nose. She is out cold. A wooden floor stretches behind them, scattered with a few toys and some tufts of fluff, and blankets lie in a heap in the corner. Everything about the pose says the dog has volunteered as a living bed, and he is taking the job seriously.
Pembroke Corgis were bred as herding dogs on farms, so they are alert, smart and often quite affectionate. Many Corgis love having a family, and some take a gentle protective role over smaller pets. Devon Rex cats are known for their wavy coats, large ears and playful, people-focused personalities. They are often called monkey-like because they like to perch on shoulders and climb to high spots. Because their coats are short and fine, they often seek out warm places and may enjoy a soft blanket or a warm companion. If you have a cat that loves to curl up with your dog, make sure both have their own beds too, so each has a place to go when they want some space. Sharing a nap is lovely, but having choices keeps everyone comfortable.
The fluff on the floor and the toys left in the middle of the room suggest a very busy morning. This sleep has been well earned.
