Every Witch Needs a Black Cat, and This One Brought Her Own Hat

AI imagedevon rex kittenhalloweenwitch hat

Every witch needs a black cat, and this one comes with her own hat. A tiny black Devon Rex kitten sits on a golden hay bale wearing a little pointed witch hat tilted over one enormous ear. Its wavy, curly coat shines in the soft afternoon light, and its pale green eyes gaze out with a quizzical, slightly mysterious look. Behind it, the porch is full of fall decor: baskets of little pumpkins and gourds, a plaid blanket, a black tote bag, a box with gardening gloves, rubber boots, dried oak leaves, and a jack-o'-lantern grinning beside the door.

Devon Rex cats are recognized for their soft, wavy coats, large ears, and pixie-like faces. They are known as playful, social, and very people-oriented companions that often love to perch on shoulders. Because their coat is thin, they can feel the cold and appreciate warm spots. Black cats like this one deserve extra care around Halloween. Many shelters and rescue groups suggest keeping all cats, especially black ones, indoors during the holiday to protect them from pranks, stress, and the busy, noisy night. A cozy room with toys and a hiding spot helps them relax.

With that hat, those ears, and that knowing gaze, this little kitten looks ready to cast a spell. Fortunately, the only magic it seems to be working is making everyone smile.
