The Best Seat in the House on Halloween Night Is Right on the Windowsill
The best seat in the house for Halloween night is right here on the windowsill. A blue point Siamese kitten sits on a nest of soft blankets, its pale body and grayish-blue ears turned toward the glass as a parade of trick-or-treaters passes outside. Children in a pumpkin costume and a ghost sheet carry treat bags down the sidewalk, and houses across the street are decorated with orange pumpkins on their porches. Inside, a cup of coffee rests on the sill, a basket of blankets sits on a shelf, and a few potted plants frame the cozy window.
Siamese cats are known for being vocal, social, and highly intelligent. They often want to be in the middle of everything and may chat with their people throughout the day. Siamese kittens are born nearly all white, and their darker points develop as they grow. A window perch is a wonderful source of entertainment for indoor cats, sometimes called cat television, and it is especially useful on Halloween. It lets a curious kitten enjoy the excitement safely, away from the open front door, the doorbell, and all the unfamiliar costumes.
From up here, the ghosts and pumpkins outside must look like the most fascinating show on earth. This little one is getting all of the fun of Halloween, with none of the scary surprises.
