An Apricot Poodle Puppy Watched the Frost Spread Across the Window
Frost spreads across the glass in feathery patterns, and an apricot Poodle puppy sits on the windowsill looking out. A pine wreath hangs on the window beside him, and a basket of toys and a pair of fuzzy slippers sit on the floor behind him. His curls are soft and a little unruly, and his dark eyes watch the outdoors with quiet interest. The room is warm, and the cold outside makes it feel even warmer.
Poodles are intelligent, trainable dogs with curly coats that do not shed much but need regular grooming. A puppy's curls can tangle quickly, so gentle brushing from an early age helps him get used to it. Window watching is great enrichment for dogs, but make sure windowsills are stable and that he cannot fall. A frosty window can be cold on the paws, so offer a soft mat or blanket. Be careful with holiday greenery as well. Some wreaths use holly or other plants that may be harmful if chewed, so hang them out of reach. If your puppy seems to be glued to the window for hours, consider adding puzzle toys or short training sessions for variety. Short sessions work best for young puppies.
The world outside is white and still. Inside, a curly puppy watches and waits for whatever winter brings next.
