A Pale Bengal Kitten Moved Into the Stocking Before Santa Could
The stocking is nearly as big as the kitten, and she has made herself right at home. A pale snow Bengal kitten looks out over the thick white cuff, her blue eyes wide and her small pink nose pointed at the camera. The red cable-knit stocking stands on a wooden floor beside a woven rug, with a basket and a quiet corner of the living room blurred behind it. The soft marking on her forehead gives her a thoughtful look, as if she's pondering what she'll find at the bottom.
Cats of every age love snug, enclosed places, and a stocking is the perfect size for a small kitten. Being tucked in gives her a feeling of safety, and the soft wool holds warmth. Bengals, including the pale snow variety, are active and curious cats, so a kitten like this may be exploring every nook and cranny of the house. If your kitten likes to climb into holiday items, check first for hidden hazards such as ribbon, candy wrappers or small ornaments. Knitted stockings can also snag little claws, so stay nearby while she explores. A cardboard box with a soft towel inside is a safe bed she can call her own.
Let's call her Snowflake. She looks very pleased with her hiding place, and she will probably stay until something more interesting rustles. For now the stocking is her castle, and the whole world can wait outside.
