An Abyssinian Cat Appointed Himself Guard of the Hay Maze

AI imageabyssinian cathay mazehalloween

Two hay bales form the entrance to a tiny maze, and a ruddy Abyssinian has taken up a post right beside it. His coat looks like polished copper in the afternoon light, his large ears stand tall and his golden eyes watch the street with the focus of a guard. Loose hay lies scattered on the pavement, and behind the bales a porch is draped in cobwebs, with a small pumpkin on the steps.

Abyssinians are lean, active cats with warm ticked coats, and they have a reputation for being curious, intelligent and always on the move. They love to explore, climb and investigate, which makes a hay bale maze very tempting. Hay and straw can be dusty and may hide small bugs or irritate eyes and noses, and a cat who chews on straw could have an upset stomach. Keep him on a harness if he goes outdoors, and give him a tall cat tree and puzzle toys inside, since a bored Abyssinian is an inventive one. After a day around hay, a brush and a quick check of the coat are a good idea.

The maze is not for him today, only the guard post. If anyone wants to enter, they will have to get past the sharpest eyes in the neighborhood and a very straight tail, and perhaps a stern look or two.
