An Aussie Puppy Walked Into the Spider Web and Brought It Along

The spider web is fake, but the puppy is very real, and she is thoroughly stuck. A blue merle Australian Shepherd puppy peers out through stretchy white webbing wrapped across her face, ears and paws, with two little plastic spiders caught in the strands. Her eyes are one brown and one blue-gray, which gives her a mischievous look, and behind her a living room with a pumpkin and scattered fall leaves is blurry. She looks surprised and entirely unbothered.

Australian Shepherds are energetic, intelligent herding dogs that love to work and play. They need plenty of exercise and mental activity, such as training games and puzzle toys, or they get bored and find their own fun. Fake webbing is a Halloween hazard for pets, since the thin stretchy strands can wrap around legs or be swallowed and cause problems. Keep decorations out of a puppy's reach, and if she chews or swallows any, call your vet. Never leave a tangled dog alone, and gently remove the strands.

This puppy takes the whole thing in stride. The tangle may be a mess, but her calm look shows she is more curious than worried. Once she is free, she will probably go right back to the next fun project. A herding dog always has a plan, even if it involves spiders, and this one will surely find a way to untangle herself with a little help from a friendly hand.
